Dr. Mark Alan Hughes, Faculty Director, Kleinman Energy Policy Center – University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Mark Alan Hughes is a Professor of Practice at PennDesign, Faculty Director of the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy, and Faculty Director of the Fels Policy Research Institute. He is a Faculty Fellow of the Penn Institute for Urban Research, a Senior Fellow of the Wharton School’s Initiative for Global Environmental Leadership, and a Distinguished Scholar in Residence at Penn’s Fox Leadership Program. He has been a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, the Urban Institute, and a senior adviser at the Ford Foundation. Hughes holds a B.A. from Swarthmore and a Ph.D. from Penn, joined the Princeton faculty in 1986 at the age of 25, has taught at Penn since 1999, and is widely published in the leading academic journals of several disciplines, including Economic Geography, Urban Economics, Political Science Quarterly, Policy Analysis and Management, and the Journal of the American Planning Association, for which he won the National Planning Award in 1992.
Stephen Mullin, President & Principal, Econsult Solutions, Inc.
Stephen P. Mullin is President of Econsult Solutions, Inc., an economic consulting firm based in Philadelphia. His 16+ year consulting practice concentrates on state and local public finance, tax and public policy analysis, economic, real estate development and impact analyses, and business, government, and not-for-profit strategies. His previously held positions were the Director of Finance and the Commerce Director for the City of Philadelphia, Deputy Director for the St. Louis Development Corp., and St. Louis City Budget Director. Mr. Mullin teaches economic courses at various universities, and is active in Philadephia’s corporate and civic worlds. He currently serves on the boards of the Philadelphia History Museum, the Library Company, CultureWorks, and the Independence Visitor Center. He is a Director of the Optimum Fund Trust Mutual Fund, and of the NASDAQ OMX Futures Exchange, and he serves on the advisory boards of Haverford Trust Company and the Arden Real Estate Funds.
Rob Graff, Manager, Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission
Mr. Graff manages the Office of Energy and Climate Change Initiatives for the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), the MPO and regional planning forum for the nine counties and 5.5 M people of Greater Philadelphia. Prior to joining the Commission in 2007, Mr. Graff was an associate Scientist at Tellus Institute in Boston, where he helped create the Global Reporting Initiative, now the global standard for corporate sustainability reporting. He earned a Master of Public Affairs and Urban & Regional Planning degree from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
