Solving The Employment Puzzle – What’s The Missing Piece?
Employer Panel Discussion 8:45am-9:45am
Introduction to Breakout Sessions 9:45am-10:00am
Session #1 10:10am-11:00am
Session #2 11:10am-12:00pm
Hire One is hosting an event that will be a launch to a new and innovating series of seminars to help the long-term unemployed rejoin the workforce. While we agree that searching for a job in today’s marketplace can be extremely puzzling, more and more people are landing jobs. Join us on May 6th to hear from a panel of local employers who will share their experiences as to which candidate succeeds in getting the job. Following the panel each participant will have the opportunity to select two breakout sessions with presentations given by workforce experts to help you find where and how you will fit in best as the next new hire! Breakout session topics will include:
- Transferrable Skills: Perhaps you are changing careers. Maybe the industry you’ve always worked in has been shrinking, or is even disappearing. You may feel that there is “no hope” to break into a new field. You may fear that you’ll need to take a big step down in order to change your career direction. By understanding and identifying your transferable skills, your new career may become a reality!
- Turn Interviews Into Offers! Many people get the interview, even multiple interviews for a job but always fall short of getting the offer. If this is you, then something(s) must change so that you get the offer. This session will help you make changes and help you ace the interview and powerfully articulate your skills and accomplishments.
- De-Stressing The Job Search: Looking for a job can be extremely stressful for the job seeker, their spouse/significant other and family. There are ways to alleviate stress and manage your job search that will not only lead to success, but could also make the job search more enjoyable!
