Southeastern PA National Agriculture Day Celebration
Join AgConnect, Chester County Economic Development Council’s agriculture partnership, as they bring together farmers, community, and businesses to celebrate National Agriculture Day on March 25, 2014.
Enjoy local beer, wine, or a featured cocktail to kick off the evening, while noshing on specialty appetizers created by the students of Delaware County Community College’s Culinary Arts program under the direction of Chef Peter Gilmore. Vote for your favorite bite made by one of the student teams! Some of the finest cheeses hand-crafted right in Chester County will be featured as well.
Place your bid on regional agricultural or country products in our silent auction.
Prime rib or a vegetarian option is on the evening’s menu.
Russell Redding, Dean of Agriculture and Environmental Science at Delaware Valley College and former Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture, will be the keynote speaker for the evening. Dean Redding serves as the chair of the AgConnect board, and he will make projections for the future of agriculture within our region.
We will also recognize the 2013 Chester County Farmers of the Year, Tom and Barbara Schaer of Meadowset Farm and Apiary and Peter Flynn of Pete’s Produce Farm, and celebrate the past 25 years of honoring farmers in Chester County!
Contributions will benefit AgConnect’s workforce training and youth career showcase initiatives which will be highlighted during dinner.
Sponsorship opportunities are available by contacting Jodi Gauker at firstname.lastname@example.org or 610-321-8226.
Growing Roots Partners will be coordinating the evening’s events.
