Health Care Connect Partnership Report
The 2017-18 Training Needs Assessment Survey was sent to Health Care Connect Partners in June. The committee will review the results of the survey and take the findings into consideration for development of training topics for 2017-18.
Health Care Connect has completed training for the 16-17 program year. Overall the IP trained 843 health care employees, resulting in a total of 4,994.5 CEs awarded. Trainings for the year included: ELNEC, Gerontological Certification Review, Improving Patient Care, Palliative Care Fellowship, a Trauma Symposium, Wound Care Certification Review, Health Care Leadership, Evidence Based Practices, EMS Training, MOAB, Dementia training, and LPN and CNA Training.
- Health Care Connect teamed up with Paoli Hospital to host 102 Chester County high school students for two (2) Career Exploration Showcases. The students were exposed to various health care career focuses including Physical/Occupational Therapy, Physician & Physician Assistant, Nutrition, Trauma Nursing, Art Therapy, Pediatric CPR, Pharmacy, ER Medicine, and more.
- In June 2017, Heath Care Connect presented the Health Care Career Immersion Academy. 17 students from several different school districts participated in this week-long career immersion experience. The students visited a different health care facility and/or University each day including Bryn Mawr Hospital, Chester County Hospital, Good Fellowship Ambulance Company, The Penn Medicine New Bolton Center, Kendall Crosslands Communities, The Chester County Intermediate Unit, Immaculata University and Penn State University-Brandywine Campus. At each location, students were given a behind the scenes facility tour, participated in hands-on activities, experienced interactive demonstrations from medical professionals from numerous health care careers.
