A message from our President and CEO
First and foremost, I hope that you and your loved ones are managing to stay healthy and safe during these unprecedented times. Please know that during this time of uncertainty, the entire CCEDC team is here to help in whatever way we can.
We’ve been working closely with our partners in Chester County Government, Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, and Chester County’s local chambers of commerce to both collect and disseminate information. An initial business impact survey was conducted that yielded more than 1,500 responses in the first week as well as valuable information on the concerns of and impacts to area businesses.
Yesterday we launched a follow-up survey: Chester County COVID-19 Business Impact Survey – Part 2. You did not have to participate in Part 1 to take part in this survey so please take a few moments to give us your feedback. Our team has also taken part in several Telephone Town Halls organized by our Chester County Commissioners and are working with various partners across the state to stay on top of information and opportunities.
You may have recently read in the Philadelphia Business Journal that our COO, Mike Grigalonis noted that the “past three weeks were the busiest in my career.” Mike led our team into uncharted territory as they stepped up to help process applications for the COVID-19 Working Capital Access (CWCA) Program. Pennsylvania authorized $61 million in funding to help small businesses across the state on a Thursday afternoon and by end of the day the following Monday, more than $75 million in requests had been submitted. In total, CCEDC received over 400 applications and, with our team working day, nights and weekend, we were able to submit 112, more than any other county in the Commonwealth.
We worked with our network of partners and Chester County government to procure more than 500,000 pieces of critical PPE, including N95 masks, for use by our frontline healthcare workers. CCEDC’s iGlobal Business Advisors (GBA) identified and conducted due diligence on overseas suppliers, and facilitated the financial transactions, to help get these products to Chester County.
Our team has been answering countless inquiries from businesses seeking help in navigating the various programs and resources available to them. In response, we’ve created a page on our website devoted to COVID-19 Business Assistance Resources. In addition, our affiliate organization, Seecopa, has launced a COVID-19 Small Business Toolkit specifically to address disaster funding programs including the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
We will continue to share information and resources to you as they become available. Most of all, please know that all of us at CCEDC are here if you need us so feel free to reach out to us at email@example.com.
