CCEDC Awards Tom Fillippo of Devault Foods the Chester County Business Hall of Fame Award

PHOENIXVILLE – Tom Fillippo, president and Chief Executive Officer of Devault Foods, was given the Chester County Hall of Fame award during the Chester County Economic Development Council’s annual dinner on Thursday, April 4.
“Tom has been a business and community leader in the county for decades,” said Gary Smith, president and CEO of the Development Council. “I can’t think of a more deserving individual.”
Fillippo, a former member of the Development Council’s board, now serves on the boards of the Chester County IDA, Central and Western Chester County IDA, Paoli Hospital and is the chair of the West Chester University Board of Trustees.
He is a past chairman of the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry, past chairman of the Chester County Industrial Development Authority, past president of the Great Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, and past president of the Pennsylvania Meat Packers Association.
Devault Foods, owned and operated by the Fillippo family since 1949, supplies portion-controlled meat to the food service industry. Devault Foods serves corporate distributors, independent distributors, corporate purchasing groups, restaurants & hotels, business & industry, health care, education and the military.
Devault’s 114,000-square-foot facility houses modern equipment with the latest safety devices and has the capacity to process more than 2 million pounds of beef products weekly. Every ounce of the meat is prepared under strict regulations and specifications.
Devault produces “Philadelphia-Style” sandwich steaks, meatballs, hamburgers, ground beef, Steakwich, plus a variety of specialty items.
The Hall of Fame Award was given at the Economic Development Council’s Business Achievements Awards Dinner at the Phoenixville Foundry. The event was sold out.
“The outstanding turnout is a testament to Tom’s contributions to Chester County,” Smith said. “More than 450 people attended the event and we had nearly 60 sponsors. QVC produced an outstanding video honoring Tom.”
Fillippo is a 1969 graduate of West Chester University.
