Youth Career Awareness Campaign Stickers

During the CCEDC’s 2013-2014 program year, which ended on June 30th 2014, our youth initiatives reached local 3,112 students. These initiatives included career fairs, community outreach events, our annual Girl’s Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology and TechiesDay events, as well as career showcases, where employers host a group of students for a half day to teach them about their business and the career paths in their industry.

Youth activities included events in agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, and energy industries, with particular focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers.

For 2014-2015, the CCEDC had many new initiatives planned, in addition to a continuation of our annual events and showcases. A new career exploration campaign will use a variety of stickers to drive students to an innovative website, and a contest will be launched where winning students will receive job shadowing opportunities at local employers.

TechiesDay will be October 8th, 2014.
