Chester County Economic Development Council to Hold First-of-Its-Kind Local Business Forum on Substance Abuse, Mental Health Issues in the Workplace

In a survey of medical personnel as well as leadership at local hospitals and health care-related companies, Health Care Connect (HCC), an initiative of the Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC), found the number one concern was a shortage of services for the growing number of people facing mental health and substance abuse problems, particularly through affordable behavioral health facilities and employer-related treatment programs.

To address this public health crisis and to provide resources to regional businesses, HCC is convening health care leaders, public officials and business representatives from Chester County’s key industries for a first-of-its-kind, CCEDC Cross-Industry Forum titled Drug Addiction and Mental Health in the Workplace: Truths and Solutions on May 14, 2019 at the Cerner Campus in Malvern.

Business representatives from the county’s key industries will be in attendance, including energy, health care, manufacturing, IT/Communications, manufacturing and life sciences.
