The discussion was moderated by 6ABC reporter Nydia Han, who asked questions and called on a pre-selected audience members.
At one point early in the discussion, Corbett touted changes in the way the state interacts with private companies. He cited faster turnaround times on permit applications and the ability to track the applications through the approval process. He also described a more open policy of public-private partnership for things like railroads.
“If somebody came forward and said, ‘We want to renovate the Paoli station … we have an idea of how to do that.’ Would that be one we’d consider? Sure,” Gov. Corbett said.
The renovation of the Paoli train station into the Paoli Intermodal Transportation Center Project has been a subject of discussion and intense local interest for decades.
Thursday’s event was sponsored by the Transportation Management Association of Chester County, Chester County Chamber of Business Industry and the Chester County Economic Development Council.
