VISTA 2025 Hosts Workforce Summit

Chester County business and education officials met Wednesday and did their best impression of a mutual fund manager.
“Past performance is no guarantee of future success,” said David M. Sciocchetti of the Chester County Economic Development Council in summing up the reason for the day-long summit at Penn State Great Valley.
“Attracting Talent and Growing the Employer-Ready Workforce in Chester County” brought together educators, business persons, economic development officials and politicians for an extended look at employers’ workforce needs and how educators can help meet them.
“Chester County has done well in the last 15 or 20 years” in workforce training and retention practices, Sciocchetti said, but that doesn’t guarantee continued success.
The issue is a key one if Chester County is going to continue with its economic success, noted Mark Lautman, author of “When the Boomers Bail” and keynote speaker for the event.
