Educating and Engaging Workers and Youth for Future Opportunities
The success of any business or organization lies in its human capital. Finding and developing our human capital is especially critical in this global economy. CCEDC creates human capital by addressing the workforce and economic development needs of industry partners in the region.
Collaborating with the Chester County Workforce Development Board and numerous strategic organizations, CCEDC developed and implemented five Industry Partnerships (IPs) to serve businesses in Chester County and the region. IPs bring together business, education, economic development and industry associations, around the common purpose of improving the competitiveness of a cluster of companies, focusing primarily on their workforces. The IPs leverage the resources of the partnership to help address common industry challenges such as developing human capital, accessing business financing and resources, and developing innovative responses to emerging business trends and opportunities.
Workforce Development spans the spectrum of training and education options. CCEDC with its partners provide:
- Career Exploration Initiatives for K-12 students and business experiences for college students serve over 2,000 students annually; and
- Incumbent Worker Training is offered for employees in more than 500 of our area’s companies; and
- Rebranding and Re-employment Support for job seekers in transition through the Hire One Initiative and CareerLink.
