Matthew P. Cabrey

As member of the Pennsylvania Global Business Advisors (GBA) team, Matt Cabrey (Kay-Bree) helps to drive the activities of this unique initiative. With highly-engaged staff and volunteers, GBA is helping Pennsylvania businesses to grow globally, and welcomes companies from around the world to Pennsylvania, providing connections, resources and solutions to them get established and grow here. Matt works closely with our GBA Program Director and the GBA Board on all levels of engagement activities – from coordinating and hosting international delegations to providing advice and education programs that help Pennsylvania-based companies to think, act and grow globally.

Matt has more than 30 years of experience in the economic development, biopharmaceuticals, financial services, marketing and communications, media, and nonprofit sectors. He has traveled to more than 60 cities in 18 countries, supported business operations and growth in three countries, and has organized and hosted numerous regional, national and international business initiatives and delegations. In addition to his work with the CCEDC’s GBA initiative, Matt also leads CCEDC’s Ideas x Innovation Network. He is founder of Growing Greater LLC, a strategic business growth and communications advisory firm, and previously led Select Greater Philadelphia, a regional business attraction marketing organization focused on growing the economic vibrancy of the southeastern Pennsylvania by attracting new businesses, jobs and talent. He has held roles with Shire plc, PNC Bank, Keystone Mercy Health Plan, the American Red Cross, and CBS Radio. Matt created and co-produced the Emmy-award winning television show Growing Greater Philadelphia with NBC Universal, and more than 150 episodes of the Growing Greater podcast.

A frequent speaker, moderator and advisor, Matt has appeared on numerous media outlets discussing topics ranging from business growth and economic issues to greater Philadelphia’s assets and history. A graduate of Penn State University, Matt earned a BA in journalism with a minor in sociology. A proud native of Philadelphia’s Overbrook neighborhood, Matt and his family live in Chester County, PA.
